With the recent tragedy in Haiti, American Red Cross offered the public an innovative and easy way to donate and help with relief efforts through their new texting campaign. This Thursday, party people Jen Shoemaker and DJ Kurupt offer you an opportunity to help Haiti that’s just as easy, and way more fun. They’re bringing their 2080′s for Haiti event to The Highball, with Deckstar artist DJ Scene providing all of the music to help you flashback to the 80′s.
You may have to dig deep in your closets to find your best Reagan-era gear, but you don’t need to dig deep for admission to this event; it’s just $10 for presale, and $15 at the door. Your cover price includes complimentary cocktails from 9-11pm (thus really making the cover price free!), along with numerous raffles throughout the night, and a costume contest.

All proceeds from the event benefit UNICEF, whose mission is to help the thousands of children who have been temporarily or permanently separated from their families by providing immediate assistance with clean water, shelter, medical supplies, vaccines, and protection. They are making every effort to reunite children with their families and also provide assistance to the thousands orphaned in Port- Au- Prince. Find out more about their work at unicef.org.
DJ Scene is a part of Deckstar, a DJ company that manages DJ AM, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Steve Aoki. He has also managed to share stages with artists including 50 Cent, Ludacris, Common, Rakim, Nas, De La Soul, The Roots, Method Man, Sir Mix-A-Lot, and countless others.
