If you’ve been downtown in the past couple of weeks, you’ve likely noticed one of the most coveted new accessories to hit Austin in a long time, the Tikkr watch. I literally can’t go a single night anymore without people asking me about my watch. And I’m not the only one sporting these fabulous new timepieces; you can find Mack Brown rockin’ the burnt orange model, Austin personalities and DJs like D Train and DJ Kurupt wear theirs everywhere, and even babies love the sleek, oversized silicone watches (seriously, look here).
So now you have the chance to join in on all the Tikkr fun: this Thursday, Tikkr is hosting a World Cup themed pub crawl, with tons of drink specials, fun DJ action, and bar games. All you need to get in is a Tikkr watch, then you’ll be placed on a team based on your watch color (white, black, or burnt orange), and compete in a variety of bar games and binge drinking throughout the night. The winning team will have the opportunity to bust open a piñata at the end of the night and claim all of the goodies inside.
The fun starts at Dirty Bill’s (511 Rio Grande) at 8pm, then the mass will move along (in a timely fashion, of course) to Kung Fu, Annie’s West, Union Park, The Belmont, Hudson, Chinatown, and finally, Speakeasy around 12:30. At Speakeasy/Terrace 59, everyone will celebrate victories over their livers, the winners will bust up the pinata, and then dance what remains of the night away to DJ Johnny Bravvo. Oh, and ladies will enjoy free champagne because every Thursday is Ladies’ Night with free bubbly and no cover.
If you haven’t gotten your Tikkr yet, you can pick one up throughout the crawl, but you’ll want to show up at DB’s to make sure you don’t get lost. It’s a $65 well spent, and a night you won’t soon forget.
