Sure, it’s rough for us 9-5ers to make it out during the week, but this Tuesday is so tempting that you’re just going to have to sacrifice a bit of sleep and sobriety to it. The night is thoroughly packed with awesome events, and the best part is that with a little bit of planning, you can hit up most, if not all of them, before the night is over. It’s a choose your own adventure kind of night, just be careful to choose (and plan) well.

Page 1, you leave work and really need a drink you end up at:
Dirty Bill’s, everyone’s favorite ‘dive bar’ in West 6th, is having a Customer Appreciation party from 4-8pm. Their motto is “Come clean, leave Dirty,” which you definitely will, thanks to $1 Jager and $2 Jager Bombs all night. Oy. I’m scared just thinking about it (in a good way, of course).

511 Rio Grande

After the bombs, you really need to DANCE. Head east toward Red River:

It’s time to dance, dance, dance to Chromeo with Holy Ghost and Telephoned at Stubb’s. Doors are at 7pm, and sure your adventure may lead you here, and you may be able to find tickets, but being smart and buying them early means you’ll for sure get in. Advance tickets are only $20. Get them here.

801 Red River

You’re not quite ready to dance, yet…grab your friends and make your way to…
Union Park
(just across from DB’s), where you can find their famous Mutha Effin’ Bingo every Tuesday, but you’ve got to get there early: this place gets packed by 7:15pm. Grab a table, a drink ($3 Bacardi & Bacardi flavors, $5 O Babies), some free bingo sheets, and get a little rowdy while you try to win prizes that range from cool (Union Park gift certificates) to bizarre (shake weight, anyone?).

612 W 6th

The drinks are consumed and you’re ready to move, will it be hip-hop dance party or electronic dance party or both? You choose:
Another night of madness, thanks to our friends over at Knuckle Rumbler (have you noticed, we kinda love them?), Proper Entertainment, and Sailorlegs.com. The 7th/Red River street block is going to be covered in a layer of bliss and sweat like you’ve never seen before, with events at both Red 7 and Beauty Bar.

Love hip hop? You most certainly will not want to miss Questlove-the ridiculously talented musician who you probably know from the Roots and has also won a Grammy, produced some amazing artists, and a whole lot more-laying his own brand of finesse down on a pair of turntables as he DJs the night away. DJ Digg and Rusty Lazer are opening up, making this quite possibly the best value your $8 has ever gotten you (that’s in advance, $10 door). Red 7‘s doors open at 9pm, and it’s an all ages show. Oh, and guess what else? All advance ticket purchasers get free entry to The Zoo at Beauty Bar for the Chromeo Afterparty. Not a fan of fees? Pick up hard tix at End of an Ear or Smoke ATX.

If you spent any of this insane Tuesday evening at the Chromeo show at Stubb’s (and even if you didn’t), you’ll want to check out the Chromeo after-party at Beauty Bar. Knuckle Rumbler’s The Zoo features Sammy Bananas (from Telephoned, opening for Chromeo) in an all-out dance party. Prepmode and Hoodie Allen will also be workin’ it out on the turntables, so squeeze your butts in after the doors open at 9pm. It’s just $3 with a Chromeo wristband, $5 without.

611 E 7th St and 617 E 7th St

You may also choose to check out a different electronic dance party:
This is Austin, and there’s almost always more than one way to skin an afterparty…err…whatever. Anyway, for another post-Chromeo option, check out Holy Ghost at Malverde in the 2nd Street District. Doors open up at 10pm, with a cover of $8 that includes drink specials, a photobooth by Alison Narro, and a few special guests.

400 W 2nd

Don’t get thirsty during your adventure:

With all that traveling, it’s understandable that one might need a quick drink break. Tuesday is a particularly good night for drink specials downtown, especially if you like Texas beer:
Townhouse ( 303 W 5th ) $2 Jameson, $2 Lone Star
Lavaca St Bar (405 Lavaca ) $2 Tecate, Negra Modelo
512 on Sixth  $2 Texas: Titos, Lone Star, Deep Eddy, Shiner
