Looking for something fun and new to do this weekend? I know what you’re thinking. ”Duh! Yes, but only if it’s doing something that benefits today’s youth.” Well then you are so in luck my fun and philanthropic Austinite friend! The Red Diversions group has put together a clue pursuit game benefiting Camp Fire USA’s Teens In Action group.
“Who is Red Diversions and what is a ‘teen in action’?” you ask. Well, Red Diversions is an entertainment group of sorts that puts together clue pursuit games for basically any kind of function you can think of. If you’re unsure what a clue pursuit game is, then think scavenger hunt/”The Amazing Race” but shortened to just a few hours with a holiday party to follow. Teens In Action is a sector of Camp Fire USA. If you remember Camp Fire from your younger days, then you’ll know it’s a scouting organization that believes in empowering today’s youth for a brighter world tomorrow. They don’t only focus on scouting but also on themes like service learning, leadership, getting outdoors and bringing families together with unique nature based activities and programs. So, Red Diversions has teamed up with the Teens In Action to help the group raise money for an upcoming state-wide event.
Don’t get me wrong folks, this is a semi-serious but absolutely fun competition! You can visit Red Diversions for registration forms and to sign up. If you have a car, a phone that receives texts and 2-3 friends, then you have all you need to play and WIN! Sign up now and pay only $40 per team but of course you can sign up the day of-this Saturday from 1-6pm. Don’t wait too long though as spaces are filling quickly. Of course, if you can’t participate you can always donate to the cause. This the easiest game you’ll ever play that also counts as your charitable act of the year! (Score!) So grab some coworkers, a fraternity brother or bring the family and join in!
