See: Fun Fun Fun Fest is Gearing up for Greatness
Austin is known for its start-up culture; taking something small, making it awesome, and then blowing it up to the best thing ever invented. Fun Fun Fun Fest is no exception. Fun Fun Fun Fest creators announced this week that the last set of Fun 2 “Early Bird” tickets as well as the first batch of high-grade, P-I-P passes go on sale this Friday, June 15th at 10 am CST, available at the FFF Fest website. The Fun 2 “Early Bird” 3-day passes will be on sale for $140. These tickets go the most quickly, so be stealthy with the quickness to get your hands on those. P-I-P passes offer a variety of perks and will be on sale for $325.
This year, Fun Fun Fun Fest will be honoring those Festivals that have gone before them by highlighting Aqua Fest, a small festival that took place on Lady Bird Lake in Austin during the 1970s. FFF Fest is also aiming to completely take over the letter ‘F’, highlighting food, fashion, and flatstock (poster art) on the festival grounds. Remember last year when Tyler the Creator kicked a media girl’s camera/face? Well hang on to your hats people, this year is going way beyond that. The lineup has not been announced yet and people are laying the streets, banging their fists on the pavement to try to get a glimpse of the amazing artists that will be here this year. Why? The festival is much smaller than ACL Festival, with artists that are modern and edgy. FFF Fest attendees won’t be sitting through an hour-long set of The Eagles, or avoiding small children while stumbly-tumbling along the festival grounds.
The annual “Guess The Fest” contest kicked off last week. Basically, log onto guessthefest.com and take your best shot at guessing the bands and comedians performing at FFF7. First prize includes a P-I-P pass with a flight to Austin. Second place wins a P-I-P pass for two, while Last Place still wins with four 3-day passes for you and 3 homies. Pretty sweet deal. Take a chance, guess who is gonna be here for FFF7 and win big. Do it or get kicked in the junk by Tyler the Creator.
