See: The Tontons Gang Up With Wild Child At Stubb’s Indoors, June 15
Houston-based rockers The Tontons will be playing Stubb’s Indoors tonight with Wild Child and up-and-coming rocker Emily Wolfe. The Tontons have played over 100 shows on both coasts, were included in 9 shows at SXSW this year, and have a very well received EP out for sale. The Houston gang has had multiple sell out performances in their hometown as of late and have decided to take the show on the road. The Tontons are looking to make new friends and will be playing tonight at Stubb’s Indoors, for an intimate indie set that could be the best show you see this week.
Austin’s own Andy Langer listed The Tontons in his New York Times SXSW article as one of the 9 Texas-based bands “Try(ing) To Make Themselves Heard at SXSW.” Their single, “Golden” was KUT’s “Song of the Day” yesterday and can be downloaded here.
The Tontons have returned to indie rock our faces in an evening full of wonder. The jazzy, sultry sound will be a perfect pairing with local favorites, Wild Child. The doors open at 9pm while the show starts at 10pm, tonight. Be there, or be square.
You can find Stubb’s at 801 Red River.
