See: She Sir Is Bringing Pop Lullabies to Mohawk This Tuesday
The Austin, TX band, She Sir has been making waves in the underground pop scene since their first album, Who Can’t Say Yes, in 2007. Since then, She Sir, has made CMJ’s Top 100 and had an honorable mention in The San Francisco Appeal’s list of the best releases of the 2000’s decade. This Tuesday night, along with Shivery Shakes and Dagars, She Sir will be gracing the indoor stage at Mohawk for a special evening of synthy pop enjoyment.
The band is currently working on a new full-length album with the famed Erik Wofford over at Cacophony, to be released in the fall of this year, on Happy Prince Records (Japan). The Tuesday night show will feature lots of new tunes from She Sir, that we should expect to find on the new album. Shivery Shakes are another Austin, TX band and local favorite whose origins stem from front-man William Glosup, who has another project, The Bubbles. The Shivery Shakes will be sandwiched in between headliner She Sir, and openers, Dugars, a small group of talented artists-on-the-rise from Dallas.
She Sir’s sound has been described as “combing their finely culled shoegaze style with the elegance and engagement of 60’s pop melodicism”. If “pop melodicism” doesn’t sell you on buying a ticket and planning to show up to Mohawk on Tuesday night, you might as well change your Facebook status to “hermit”.
